Course Description

The PRINCE2® Foundation to Practitioner training is a 2-day course with nightly homework, which allows delegates whom have previously undertaken the PRINCE2 Foundation Course to take a deeper level of PRINCE2® training to achieve the Practitioner certification level.

This course has been accredited by the APMG who are the examining body for PRINCE2® and responsible for all aspects of the provision of exams including setting, marking, feedback and appeals. Apollo Consulting Group, as an accredited training organization, acts as their agent in providing administrative facilities.

Learning Objectives

This training will enable you to apply PRINCE2® to your current project environment during the course so you will gain practical skills by using the techniques to handle real issues.

This PRINCE2® practitioner course is aiming to train whether a candidate to apply PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2®. To this end they need to exhibit the competence required for the Foundation qualification, and show that they can apply and tune PRINCE2® to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario, specifically, candidates must be able to:

  • Learn the sub-processes functions and input-outputs from the knowledge gained from PRINCE2® foundation process.
  • Produce detailed explanations of all processes and sub-processes, components and techniques
  • Provide examples of all PRINCE2® products as they might be applied to address the particular circumstances of a given project scenario
  • Show the understanding of the relationships between processes, components, techniques and PRINCE2® products and can apply this knowledge.
  • Demonstrate that the understanding of the reasons behind the processes, components and techniques of PRINCE2®, and that they understand the principles underpinning these elements
  • Demonstrate their ability to tune PRINCE2® to different project circumstances
  • Analyze different project scenarios using all the combined knowledge learned from the PRINCE2® training

You must have passed the PRINCE2® foundation exam to take this course.

Contents

The PRINCE2® Foundation examination is aiming to measure whether a candidate would be able to act as an informed member of a project management team using the PRINCE2® methodology within a project environment supporting PRINCE2®.

To this end they need to show they understand the principles and terminology of the method, specifically, candidates must be able to:

  • Describe the purpose and major content of all roles, the eight components, the eight processes and the sub-processes, and the techniques.
  • State which management products are input to, and output from the eight processes.
  • State the main purpose, and key contents, of the major management products.
  • State the relationships between processes, deliverables, roles and the management dimensions of a project.

PRINCE2® Practitioner Exam

The PRINCE2® Practitioner is the second of the two PRINCE2®PRINCE2®

This PRINCE2® examination is aimed to measure whether a candidate would be able to apply PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2®. To this end they need to exhibit the competence required for the Foundation qualification, and show that they can apply and tune PRINCE2® to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario, specifically, candidates must be able to:
examinations you are required to pass to become a Practitioner.

  • Produce detailed explanations of all processes, components and techniques, and worked examples of all PRINCE2® products as they might be applied to address the particular circumstances of a given project scenario.
  • Show they understand the relationships between processes, components, techniques and PRINCE2® products and can apply this understanding.
  • Demonstrate that they understand the reasons behind the processes, components and techniques of PRINCE2®, and that they understand the principles underpinning these elements.
  • Demonstrate their ability to tune PRINCE2® to different project circumstances.

Exam Format

  • 9 questions, with a scenario background and appendices.
  • Each of the 9 questions is worth 40 marks.
  • An overall score of 180 out of a possible 360 is required to pass.
  • Three hour duration.
  • Open-book examination (only the PRINCE2® Manual is allowed)
