This course is aimed mainly at managers and those responsible for delivering training. Also those who are not specialists in the area of learning, development and training, and who may need help in understanding the various terms and techniques for best practice design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes.

Training the Trainer provides a thorough grounding in the principles of professional training. It defines ‘learning’ and ‘training’; provides an understanding of the theories to help determine the competencies and skills of learners and shows how to carry out a training or learning needs analysis. The effective design and delivery of training incorporates a variety of practical methods such as ice-breakers, role-plays, group work etc to enhance the learning experience. The course will also address how to carry out an effective evaluation of training using the Kirkpatrick model.
