The IT Infrastructure Library embodies good practice for IT service management. The Library documents a systematic approach that helps organisations deliver well managed IT services in the face of difficulties such as skill shortages, exacting but unpredictable business requirements and user demands, and the increasing complexity of IT systems.

This course is the first stage in the ITIL training program. It provides a comprehensive overview of the ITIL concepts and introduces the Service Support and Service Delivery disciplines.

ITIL main concept

ITIL started during the last century in the 80’s when the OGC, (Office of Government Commerce) announced ITIL, the objective is to minimize the communication barrier among different IT groups and processes. OGC recognized that many different IT components such as hardware, software and computer based communication that all needs to be managed in order to achieve the best performance, OGC has received many from the IT services solution experts to help them build up this intensive course.

ITIL service management is the world’s most popular service management methodology; it is set of internationally most influenced best practice. This practice gets updates with the IT development, as we know that IT technology and services are constantly changing. ITIL v3 is a solid foundation best practice essence. The ‘Best Practice’ guide is specially designed for different industries; its framework came from many public frameworks and expert opinions from various industries.

The core framework of the new version 3 is the service lifecycle; the service strategy being the core of the whole service lifecycle. The service design, service transition and service operation is the actual implementation. Continuous service improvement is based on the service strategy target, with the target for service optimization improvement. ITIL includes implementation beneficial practice service management, this includes the implementation knowledge management to assist organization to supplement deficiency in skills, stringent and unpredictable business and user requirements in the ever changing complex IT system and yet still able to provide quality IT services.

This exam prep is for those who already have a certain IT experience, do understand the existing processes and practices, and just to touch up with the loose ends with this intensive training.

Upon successful passing of the ITIL foundation exam, the candidates will receive credits towards the next level of ITIL Expert certification.
