Apollo completed first public English Product Management Training in China

Apollo provided the first public English product management training in Shanghai last week, with delegates from many multi-national companies. The course aimed at a complete systematic approach to product management approach, from the market analysis, competitive analysis to portfolio selection and management to ensure a successful delivery of the winning product.

In teams of new product development, there are many training courses available such as PMP from PMI of U.S.A. and the recent PRINCE2 from UK OGC (Office of Government Commerce). The systematic approach to provide a comprehensive approach to manage new product, as well as delivering a set of tools to help candidates to deal with various situations is a first in China.

Interestingly enough, the course also mirror the role of product manager of how to manage a successful project through the hands of the project manager. In most cases the product manager has the responsibility to deliver the winning product, and yet no direct control of the project development, a set of tools and methodologies in this training course has helped the product managers to leverage their roles and clarify responsibilities to ensure project success.

There were a couple of climaxes during the course in terms of how to find the optimized features set for the new product, as well as how to ensure success for new high tech products that are solutions looking for a problem. The delegates all felt that the course has brought them a new dimension of improving their level of competence. The training also provided the key essential accounting knowledge that a product manager should know in order to analysis the financial report of a company.
